About Lisa

LISA MATSKO HAMILTON received her MFA in music theatre at the University of California, Irvine. and her BA at the University of Redlands. Ms. Hamilton specializes in the areas of voice and music theatre training focusing on audition skills for the stage and screen and particularly on preparing for college auditions.

Ms. Hamilton believes that in auditioning, song choice is as important as demonstrating strong vocal and acting abilities. Accordingly, in addition to providing excellent technical voice training and coaching, Ms. Hamilton possesses impeccable, second-to-none expertise in selecting the right song for the individual.

As an accomplished pianist, Ms. Hamilton is also able to accompany auditioning performers. Rather than rely on pre-recorded tracks, this ability allows the artist more freedom of expression as the more subtle nuances of the song are showcased and revealed. Her-state-of-the-art studio has the ability to record audition performances and to make videos that are now so necessary to the audition process.

Her students have attended prestigious performing arts programs at the University of Michigan, UCLA, Yale, Harvard, University of Miami, Boston Conservatory at Berklee, University of Miami, University of Arizona, NYU, Juilliard, Pace, Otterbein University, AMDA, USC, Point Park College, Emerson College, Muhlenberg College, Rider, UCI, Montclair State University, Ball State University, Syracuse University and Northwestern.

PSA, and specifically Lisa’s private teachings have truly been such a privilege to have. I started taking classes at PSA during the beginning of the Covid pandemic and quarantine, and even in that short time, I have grown so much as a performer. Lisa gave me the encouragement and the pure expertise to not only work harder on my talents but to feel confident in them! She helped me build my repertoire, and understand parts of my voice and the emotional depths of my performances I never saw before. Lisa is so good at what she does, and I am so grateful to have the opportunity to learn from her and everyone at PSA!

I was a sophomore in high school when I first came to PSA and I was completely lost and had no idea where to begin. Thanks to the immensely hardworking and supportive faculty at PSA I was able to get into a respected Musical Theatre BFA program.
